'ol Brand

new again.

Ol’ Vine had been a Tulsa staple for years in the trendy area of Brookside. But as times changed, so did “trendy.” And Ol’ Vine was now seen lagging behind the many new restaurant hotspots that were attracting the next generation of customers. They not only needed a new look and feel to be way more current, but someone to look throughout their entire restaurant operation to see what changes could be made to spur real excitement with both current and potential customers.

When Ol’ Vine came to us looking for a way to freshen up their brand, our first reaction wasn’t just to tell them what we thought, but to find out what their customers thought. So we started with a small research project that included customer interviews and secret dining trips by our employees to get a detailed look at the true customer experience.

Through that learning, we developed recommendations that included rebranding without the “Ol’” in the name, becoming just Vine…so we could also keep the years of equity built up with customers. We then developed a new logo, tagline, and a look and feel that we implemented at all customer touchpoints—starting, of course, in the digital world with social and web and going all the way through to signage, decor, and many more touchpoints within the restaurant.

To launch the new name and look, we developed a two-pronged approach that included a different message and media mix to our two target audiences—longstanding, loyal customers and a younger audience that had never before given the restaurant a chance.
